Architects located in Hackney, East London. We work on projects that are diverse in type and scale such as schools, domestic extensions, offices, large scale residential developments, one-off private houses, nurseries, and retail with values from £100k to £10m.
Current projects include a secondary school refurbishment in north London, a large office fit-out in Greenwich, a one-off new build private house in Germany, a higher education college in Eastbourne, new housing in Hackney, and various residential extensions around London.
The practice was founded by Matthew Hardcastle RIBA in 2008. Matthew qualified as an Architect in 1998 and was the project architect responsible for the RIBA Stirling Prize winning building the Evelyn Grace Academy School in Brixton while working as an architect at Zaha Hadid Architects.
We are pragmatic and open minded in our approach to projects. For every project we form a clear understanding of the requirements and constraints, seek out the best use and opportunities from the site, and through an efficient methodical work process deliver an effective, environmentally responsible solution that fully meets the client’s needs, offers value for money, and is delightful.
We are equally committed to both the design and implementation stages in the delivery of projects. We enjoy the relationship that develops through closely working with our clients during the feasibility and design stages.
We equally enjoy the delivery and implementation stages, working closely on site with the delivery team, engineers, craftsmen, trade and building contractors.
If required, we can recommend a team of consultants, construction professionals, and competent reliable building contractors and tradesmen that we work with on a regular basis.
